Taylor Fresh Foods recalled one lot of its "Trader Joe’s Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon" on April 28 due to the undeclared presence of a common allergen.

According to the United States Food & Drug Administration, the recalled product, distributed to retail stores across 18 states (including locations in Michigan) was mislabeled and does not include an ingredient callout for milk which poses the risk of a serious "adverse reaction" to individuals allergic to parmesan cheese (included in the meal kit but not listed on the labels).

The recall was initiated because "500 units of the salad were mistakenly packaged with a sealed packet of parmesan cheese crumbles (instead of a packet of crispy onions)."

Consumers should avoid consuming Trader Joe’s Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon with UPC code 00773164 and use by dates April 28, 2025 and April 29, 2025.

There have been no allergic reactions reported as a result of consuming the products with the wrong packets (as of April 29). Officials are urging consumers who have a milk allergy to discard the product and avoid consumption.

Concerned individuals who purchased the recalled Trader Joe’s Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon can contact the company at "(855) 455-0098 Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm PST."
